Luis Castro sympathizes with Taison, expelled after racist slurs.
Shakhtar Donetsk coach Luís Castro has sympathized with Brazilian footballer Taison, who was sent off on Sunday in a 1-0 win against Dynamo Kiev following racist insults from supporters of the Ukrainian capital.
Taison was sent off after 85 minutes of matchday 14 of the Ukrainian League after grabbing the ball with his hand, kicking it towards the fans and giving them an obscene gesture in response to the insults.
At the press conference after the game, Luis Castro abdicated from evaluating the meeting, preferring to issue a statement condemning any act of racism.
"Today my players showed their character. They were demonstrating their personality during the game, but right now I want to support all who suffer from racism and those who suffered today. Any manifestation of racism is unacceptable. It was and will be a shame on everyone. Together we must take a stand against it, every day, every minute and every second, "said Luis Castro.
Shakhtar beat Dynamo Kiev thanks to a goal from Kryvtsov on 19 minutes and lead the championship with 40 points, 12 more than second-placed Zorya Luhansk.
