Portuguese rider occupies 17th place in World Championship
Portuguese rider Miguel Oliveira (KTM) believes he can return to a place in the top 10 at the next MotoGP race in Thailand on Sunday, the venue of the 15th World Motorcycling Championship.
Almadense arrives at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, in 17th place in the championship, with 29 points, but has almost recovered from a right shoulder injury that has affected him since 25 August.
"I'm looking forward to this race. Last year we went to this track for the first time and it was very good for me because I got a podium. I think that's a good sign," explained the Portuguese driver, quoted by the team's press office. Tech3.
Miguel Oliveira also said he hoped "to be a little better prepared than in the last races, as he had more time to recover his shoulder", thus aiming "a satisfactory result for the team".
Tech3 owner Frenchman Hervé Poncharal believes Miguel Oliveira "will be almost 100%": "We are confident that we are almost back to the shape we had and the understanding of the bike we had in Spielberg (Austria) and Silverstone ( Great Britain). We believe Miguel can make a good result, because he likes this circuit, "said Poncharal.
With 14 races in the World Championship, Spaniard Marc Márquez (Honda) leads the championship with 300 points.
