The count and countess of Wessex took a break from royal duties and went on a family holiday to the exclusive Swiss ski resort of St. Moritz.
Prince Edward and his wife Sophie, both 55, appeared in excellent spirits while spending time with their children Lady Louise Windsor, 16, and James, Viscount Severn, 12, on the slopes at the weekend.
A half-day excursion to the exclusive resort, which recently hosted Dasha Zhukova's star-studded wedding and billionaire tycoon Stavros Niarchos, has become a family tradition for Wessexes, who are seasoned skiers.
Neither Sophie at Edward has any real appointments scheduled for this week, so it is believed that they can stay in Switzerland for the rest of the week before returning to the UK in time for the children to start school on Monday.
The delicious family photos will bring great joy to the queen, who suffered yet another blow today when her nephew, David Linley, announced that he had separated from his wife Serena, just days after the separation of grandson Peter Phillips from wife Autumn was made public .

The family ski trip will be a welcome break for Sophie and Edward, who had a busy start to the year after Megxit and Prince Andrew left. The couple is thought to be rushing to take more responsibility in light of the seismic waivers.
Last month, the couple was invited to co-host a reception at Buckingham Palace with the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge in the absence of the Queen, Prince Charles and Duchess of Cornwall.
However, any thoughts about his busy schedule seemed far from the royal couple's head as they headed for the slopes on Sunday.
The family stopped at the bottom of the mountain in black 4x4s and put on their helmets and goggles before getting on the cable car.
The countess of Wessex curled up against the cold in a black coat and contrasting white pants with a red sash on the side of her leg.

St Moritz is a kind of celebrity hangout for die-hard skiers, frequented by artists like John Travolta, Liz Hurley and Ivana Trump, as well as a number of royalty.
Most recently, Princess Beatrice and her fiance Edo were seen arriving at the resort before the wedding of close friend Dasha Zhukova to billionaire transport magnate Stavros Niarchos.
Royal skiers also joined monarch Pierre Casiraghi, Grace Kelly's grandson and New York art dealer Vito Schnabel.
