One airline says it will offer passengers up to 7,300 pounds if they test positive for the coronavirus after taking a flight with them – regardless of where they think they picked it up.
Vietjet, based in Vietnam, announced that it would make payments as part of its new & # 39; Sky Covid Care Insurance & # 39; policy. and that it would apply to travelers in their domestic services.
The fixed amount – which must be claimed within 30 days after the flight – is being offered free of charge to all eligible passengers, regardless of age or nationality.
Vietjet, based in Vietnam, says it will pay passengers up to £ 7,300 if they test positive for coronavirus after traveling with them.
The policy is available to those flying between March 23 and June 30, 2020, with payments ranging from 20,000,000 VND (£ 736 / $ 846) to 200,000,000 VND (£ 7,359 / $ 8,465).
Vietjet says: & # 39; With insurance, passengers are eligible for coverage and benefit from Vietjet within 30 days from 00:01 of the flight date, regardless of how passengers are infected with the disease.
“ To qualify for insurance coverage, passengers must provide all information in accordance with Vietjet's terms and conditions when purchasing tickets and using aviation services – and comply with all Vietjet disease prevention and control regulations, Ministry of Health and Vietnam authorities. "
According to the airline, it already has tens of billions of Vietnamese dong reserved for the payment of prizes.
Ineligible passengers include those who have tested positive for Covid-19 or anyone who has violated safety regulations, such as travel bans, described by the Vietnam Ministry of Health.
People who have epilepsy or mental illness are also not eligible.
All passengers must complete a form stating that they are healthy before boarding.
