The arrival of 2020 marks the end of WhatsApp's operation on Windows Phone, a mobile operating system developed by Microsoft, which did not achieve the desired success. But the popular messaging app will also stop operating on older versions of Android and iOS soon.
Windows Phone support is scheduled to end on December 31, 2019, according to WhatsApp itself. That is, the new year will start without the messenger for those who have a cell phone with the Redmond Company system, remembering that he has not been in the Microsoft Store since last July.
For older versions of Google and Apple systems, the app will have a small survival, running until February 1, 2020 on devices running Android 2.3.7 and earlier and iPhones with iOS 8 and earlier. In these models, users can no longer create new accounts or verify existing ones.

According to WhatsApp, messenger features may stop working at any time after these dates. So if you use one of the end-of-support phones and want to save your messages, you should back up your conversations or export them by email before the deadline.
